Hunting License Requirements

The type of hunting license you need depends on the species you intend to hunt. For instance, if you hunt deer, you need to purchase a big game license for deer. Transport tags for big game are included in the purchase price of the license. Check out the fee schedule or call the License Division at (360) 902-2464. If you hunt multiple species, you can save money by purchasing all of your hunting privileges at the same time. You can buy your hunting license at WDFW Online Sales and Services website or at more than 600 locations throughout the state, including many sporting goods stores, convenience stores, and major sports retailers. Anyone born on or after January 1, 1972, is required to complete an approved Hunter Education class to be eligible for a hunting license.
